1. The videos were SO helpful—that was one of my favorite parts because it helped us see what to do and we have been referring back to them when we forget.

2. I loved that Laine texted me every couple of days to update me on what Loddie had learned and she always included a photo.

3. I loved that Laine had her own well-behaved dogs and a cat so that Loddie not only had exposure to other pets/distractions, but she also had fun playing with other animals. I also REALLY appreciated that I knew Loddie was feeling loved and having a great time while also learning new skills. I could see in the videos that Laine was so sweet and kind with Loddie.

4. I loved that the program could be tailored to our specific needs (like using a fresh patch and having a buzzer).

5. I like that Loddie was exposed to different environments to help her practice her skills in places with different amounts of distraction.

6. I really appreciated that Laine came to pick up Loddie rather than having us drive out to her house.

7. Yes, Laine was fantastic at answering all of my questions. I liked that we got to practice each of the training activities in front of Laine to make sure we were doing the commands correctly.

Hey!  Ok seriously my daughter thinks you traded a Teddy for a different dog!  He is sooooo amazing and doing soooooo good!  He comes to my office and relaxes and can be trusted to be on the main floor.  We have been taking him everywhere!  He did get one shoe today and I was able to see it so hope that made a correction!  I cannot even believe what a difference it has made!

Laine was on time for pick up and for the go home lesson. She was great at communication and flexible about times pick up and drop off times. She was able to reassure me during pick up as I was nervous to try to tell her so many things. She made sure that I was aware that I could text her at any time. She was very thorough and patient during the go home lesson. She is a pro and dog whisperer. My husband and I needed a lot of guidance. I greatly appreciated that Prodigy Pups was able to accommodate to take our pup while we were on vacation. I love how Laine sent me updates on how he was doing and answered every question I had. She sent videos and pictures throughout the 2 weeks he was with her. She really got to know our pup! Communication has been amazing! I’m excited to have Laine return to help with some follow up things. Christa too has been very responsive and helpful! I honestly have nothing but good things to say about Prodigy Pups. I was really hesitant and torn about the price but realized that they are amazing at their jobs, and it was totally worth it!

So my husband was able to bring Charlie to the park with kids and dogs running around and was able to play fetch with him off leash.  Seriously blown away.

My son and I were able to play catch out back while Charlie just hung out.

I think one of the biggest selling points for us, when we first started looking at programs is that your training is “in home”. Our lab is a house dog and most training/boarding programs, especially for large breeds, seem to be geared more towards hunting or sporting in a kennel setting.

The results…our happy, much-improved, puppy! I was eager to see how much she had physically grown in two-weeks, as well as behaviorally. Incredible results within only this short time. Charlie joined Laine at 14 weeks old and is so much more settled, even for a high-energy lab!

Laine was very thorough and spent a fair amount of time with me. We reviewed the training points before releasing Charlie from the car. It was so great to see our puppy again, so after a little fun and exciting reunion of hugs and pets, she showed me it all with her giving Charlie instruction. Then it was my turn to “take the reins” so-to-speak with Laine’s observation and guidance. She was patient and very good at sharing her knowledge…training the pet parents is probably even more work…lol.

I contacted Christa at Prodigy Pups about obedience training for our two (2) German Shepherds. One was six (6) months old and one was a year old. Christa was very responsive. We discussed the goals I had in mind for our dogs and i booked 6 sessions.

Christa is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and helped us identify the ‘why’ dogs exhibit particular behaviors. She provided solutions and often more than one option to correct the behavior such as jumping, leash pulling, recall, etc.

Christa came to our residence and was always prompt. Sometimes, we had to change a training session and she was accommodating. Since we had two dogs to train at the same time, we did both joint lessons and also worked with them independently. She also assisted us with shock and prong collar training which helped immensely!

We took them to the state park and received many compliments on how well behaved they were even when seeing other dogs, kids, etc. This is important for a variety of reasons but also a way to change the perception of GSD being a dangerous breed. A trip to the vet yielded great results too. No barking or charging other dogs in waiting area.

Christa is a great trainer and cares about her clients. She is friendly and well versed in dog training. But also know it is your responsibility as the dog owner to work on the skills with your dog(s) in between sessions.

I would highly recommend Christa given her skill set and love of dogs.

My Miss Dixie is an OEB, which can be challenging. The Prodigy Pups trainers did an absolutely wonderful job of training her and me! They are great at keeping me updated when I board her with them; using fun pics and captions. I always know she is in great caring hands. I would highly recommend them for training and boarding. Our 1.5 year old labradoodle, Murphy, has always been responsive to basic training and generally well-behaved but he struggled a lot with being obedient even when distracted. We did not feel equipped to train him to the level that we wanted him to be at on our own so we sent him to Prodigy Pups. We had a list of goals that we wanted Murphy to work on during his time at training and Becky was very responsive to all of our requests. We loved getting all of the daily updates on Murphy’s progress while he was away – it felt great to be kept in the loop when we couldn’t be with him. Becky did a wonderful job of explaining everything that Murphy worked on and all of the things that we needed to do to help him continue with his training at home. We have been so impressed with all of the progress he has made! Murphy came home right before the holidays so his training was put to the test right away. He has shown major improvements in many of the areas that he struggled in before such as jumping on people, coming when called (even when distracted), counter surfing, and lunging at other dogs on walks. Many people have commented on how well-behaved he has become, and even people who weren’t his biggest fans before training have expressed how much they enjoy being around him now! My dog Molly is 13 years old and has been boarded with Christa and now Rhonda all of her life. She loves to have them take care of her—she is so excited when she sees them that she completely forgets about me! Getting a puppy about a week before the Covid Stay at home order was interesting to say the least. We couldn’t do puppy classes, but also didn’t want to miss the chance at starting training with our dog.

After talking with a few other trainers in Minnesota, most of them said essentially “you have a golden doodle, you’ll be fine on your own”. I stumbled across Prodigy Pups and am thankful I did.

The emails with Christa were great. She was responsive and super knowledgeable, as well as welcoming. She didn’t make me feel silly for looking for a board and train option for my golden doodle. Becky was the trainer we sent our pup to and she’s all kinds of awesome. She not only trained our pup, but also has kids and other dogs that helped socialize our dog during Covid stay at home.

After a few months, our dog was pushing her boundaries a bit and we had gotten a little lax in our training with her. We had a follow up appointment with Becky and it was great. Our dog was still totally trained – we had just dropped the ball and she helped get us back in the right groove.

We have been so happy with the results. It’s absolutely worth it to send your dog there and when I finally talk my fiancé into pup #2, they’ll be visiting Prodigy Pups as well. :).   Kellie Goddard

It was so great to get away & know your dog is safe and being taken care of so well vs just sitting in a kennel all day. Becky at Prodigy Pups has been amazing. We sent her our young doodle who was just getting into her “teenage” years and we received back a responsive and well-trained family member. My sweet little Blue heeler pup was a total handful when we brought her home at 8 weeks. She didn’t know how to play appropriately, had no concept of listening to the commands she had definitely learned, stubbornly refused to be house trained, and had a tendency to get very riled up and a little aggressive when restrained in any way. We wanted to nip this in the bud and we’re honestly super frustrated to the point of considering surrendering her back to the people we bought her from. Enter Prodigy Pups! A couple close friends recommended I reach out and I’m so happy I did. It took awhile to get her in for a 2 week board and train based on all the COVID puppies AND the great approach they take with board and trains where they are only working with one dog at a time in someone’s personal home.
We had a ton of communication upfront about appropriate format of training, expectations, what was included etc. Becky, our behaviorist, picked Jolene up at our personal home (and dropped her off at the end – talk about great service!). We were in constant communication throughout the 2 weeks with messages, videos and photos and answers to all my clueless dog parent questions. When Jo came home, she was a very well mannered and well adjusted little puppy. We even got compliments on her behavior from pet store employees and our vet! Since Jo was so little, this was all accomplished with basic treat training and exposure therapy to address problem behaviors. We are so thrilled with our results and couldn’t dream of not having this little lady in our family now. Prodigy Pups and Becky were a blessing to her and our family and we are so grateful!
